Visiting Los Angeles

I'm 19 years old dreaming student from Cherkasy, Ukraine. I've been addicted with LA probably since my childhood and I can firmly claim - that is my lifetime dream. As you know, now our country is going through bad times with its tumble-down economy and I'm honestly tired of this living. I realize that I won't be able to stock up like 5000 $ for my trip working at usual jobs as our people get paid in average 130 dollars a month and it's clearly not enough. So far, I found a job at local IT company and I plan on evolving my programming skills so ultimately I could be making at least 1000 dollars a month to make my dream come true. I know this is apparently the only sphere where solid money are spinning in our town.

I've been hired one month ago and I'm getting paid only 130 dollars yet, but that's only the beginning and as my boss says if I keep working hard he believes in a half a year I'll be getting 400$ salary. At the same time I go to college and It's gonna be the third year of studying so I'll get my diploma in two years.

So I have a clear plan to attain the above mentioned goal. For the following two-three years I have to concurrently work and study and try to stock up at least 70% of my payments, and besides that, I want to improve my English so I could fluently speak with people when I arrive to USA. By now I suppose I have not bad English skills and to get better in this I'm going to listen to radio podcasts in English every time while walking to work and coming back to home.

I'll likely be posting my progress below so people can encourage me in hard times to not give up.
